Dahlin Dears,
What a time of year, yes? The trees so full, the roses, oh the roses in full bloom. I have a weakness for lavender roses. I don't know their names, but when I see them I swoon. (Not that I don't swoon at other times whether I want to or not.)
La Luna this month in all her glory beckons me to think about faith. About the movement from hope toward faith. What do we believe in? I believe in the "sacrament of the moment." I believe in the power of forgiveness. I believe in the boundless power of love. I believe in the power of gratitude that helps me walk through this life.
When I am blue, I try to give thanks. Not just for the big things--my husband, my family, and my friends. But for my home, for the conveniences of my home--the fridge that keeps food cold to help nourish my body, the washer that cleans the clothes I wear. The very clothes I wear, which although not as glam as they used to be, are cotton-soft, and keep me warm or cool as I need.
I give thanks that I am able to write books that people want to read. I give thanks that I am able to see and put words together. I give thanks for the healing power of the imagination, which can bring us gifts only we can give ourselves.
Vacation time is a great time for fun. It's also a great time to savor each moment, and to take time to reflect on the gift of life itself. It's all a gift, isn't it?
That's what La Luna is trying to tell me this month: It's all a gift! The only response is to say "Thank you," and throw a kiss to the breezes of summer.
Take care. Stay in touch. I love to read your responses to my posts. And know I am grateful for each one of you!
84,000 Blessings,
Rebecca
P.S. Special pink and blues for those of you who are in physical and mental pain. Breathe in, breathe out. Know you are not alone.
